What you will learn in our 2 day course -
roles and responsibilities of a snorkel guide
full knowledge of reading weather and best conditions for a dive site
How to collect information from your passion and create a tour briefing
How to organise and co-ordinate a tour
Safe practices when operating your tours
How to assist snorkels in need of assistance
Equipment knowledge / problems and remedies
Marine life interactions and safety concerns
Marine environments and safety concerns
Business…. How to run and operate your snorkel business
And so much more …
Requirements to become a Padi Snorkel Guide
Must be over 18
Have a current first aid and cpr certification ( no older than 2 years)
Have a signed medical form by a medical practitioner or GP
Demonstrate practical skills
Demonstrate safety skills
Demonstrate assisting skills
Provide a 15min briefing and a 5 minute de brief for a snorkel tour
Fitness and Ability requirements -
Swim 800m in under 15 mins ( mask,snorkel and fins permitted but no flotation aids such as wetsuits)
Tread water or float for 15 mins ( no flotation device assistance)
Swim 25m underwater
Dive to a depth of 6m
Once all these requirements are met then you will become a Padi Snorkel Guide and can start sharing your passion.
Course Costs -
$750 for 2 days
includes printed snorkel guide manual
All pool costs
All snorkel equipment is provided if necessary
Post course information and business start up model
